It's not the biggest street in Leek and it does not have the benefit of a great location, but it must rank as one of the best kept streets in the whole town. Nearly every house has a glowing display of flowers, each trying to out do the other for colour and variety and all done with out any formal discussion on the part of the householders.

It's amazing the difference it can make when a group of neighbours all take a pride in their street!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see how nature can flourish on a strip of concrete. Is that a park aceross the street? Also, I find the chimney stacks quite interesting. There appear to be a lot of flues coming out of each one. Are these chimneys still used for heat, coal I assume?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a pleasant place to live. Really nice.
ReplyDeleteNice to find my street here. The houses are two up two downs so 4 chimney pots - and just a yard at the back so we made our gardens on the pavement.
ReplyDeleteThe low wall is the only reminder of the chapel demolished in the sixties.
It would be nice if that was a park over the road, but unfortunately it is actually a car park!
