Tunnel sign

Not really sure who this sign is for, as people cannot walk through the tunnel and you would not want to carry your boat over the top!
Due to computer problems posting may become a bit erratic for the next few days, dont you just love your PC.

Cherry Eye Bridge

The name may originate from either "Cherry High", which is an old name for the nearby Riddings Farm, or "Cherry Eye" or "Cherry High" ironstone mine, which is also nearby. Popular legend has it named after a disease which effected the appearance of the ironstone miners.

Day of Rest

The Black Lion at Consall Forge, just the spot to spend part of Sunday afternoon, to get here it was just a short stroll down the canal from Froghall, with the steam trains chugging by, then we sat and had a pint and a bowl of chips. Perfect.
The pint came by the wonderful name of Wibbly Wallaby from the Wincle Beer Co. and what a cracking pint it was.

URE 281 is an AEC Regal III with a 9.6 ltr original diesel engine. The bodywork is by Thomas Harrington, more information including old pictures can be found here

As for the technical side of the photographs, they are shot on a Nikon digital SLR, i then tone map the image using Photomatix, colour match the image using lightroom and then go into photoshop for around an hour to produce the finish image.

My bus

Not my bus, but his bus and your given a very warm welcome as you approach. An old English sheep dog stands (well lies) guard on board an Albion Nimbus formally of the Berresford bus company, more information can be found here. Berresford of Cheddleton was a local bus company well known by most locals, i remember a service that was part bus, part taxi and part adventure and one night end at my house in the car of the bus driver.
The photo was taken at Alf Tunstall Classic Bus Rally, held at the Churnet Valley Railway on Sunday. More photos through the week.
