The box

One of the restored buildings at the Churnet valley railway, i just love to see these old buildings restored to their former glory. Steam railways are just like travelling in time, seeing the steam railway engines and the railway buildings looking as they did in their hay day is such a thrill.

  1. Oh! A few more of this building would be lovely Brett.

  2. I agree. They just demolished a historic old building a little north of us the other day. One more gone, and another generic, no-character, modern box will take it's place.

  3. Couldn't agree more, Brett. I'm not a 'train anorak' but I think, like most people, there is something marvellously evocative and other-worldly about steam trains. Maybe it's the (probably misplaced) sense of coming from a better time and a better place. It's like hearing then seeing any of the planes from the BBMF (although obviously without the war...)
