Sainsbury's Leek
One of the biggest things to happen to Leek over the past few months is the announcement that Sainsbury's is coming, they are going to redevelop the old Churnet works, here is a link to their web page showing how it will all look once it is done and before it all gets pulled down i am going to run a set of images of how it looks now.

I don't know whether to congratulate you or say I'm sorry. I know that it will be nice when it's completed but I like it much better when they renovate the old buildings and use them.
ReplyDeleteMe too - I like it when the renovate old buildings and use them. From looking at what they are going to develop I don't see any of that in the works. Shame.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind that Sainsbury's will renovate the old buildings my only issue is what 95% of the town don't know because Sainsbury's have quietly brushed over the issue. They are planning on changing the road systems, the roads around the town centre will become one-way (possibly an attempt to divert traffic towards the supermarket), the roundabout will go I believe traffic lights will replace it, a roundabout will be inserted on macclesfield road too to mark the entrance of the supermarket.
