- Brett studied photography at Leek Collage, attaining both an ‘A’ level and a ‘Centra’ in Graphic Technology. He then went on to work locally in the photographic industry. He was an active member of Alsager Camera Club finishing his time there as chairman. After tiring of taking photographs to please competition judges, he left the club to concentrate his time on taking images that said more about the subject than the technical skill of the photographer. He won the ‘Britannia Art Award’ for 2005,2006 and 2008. His blog 365 to 42 was also Google Blog of note. His main body of work is divided between landscape and wildlife photography. ReplyDeleteRegarding this house on Newcastle Road, it's called Caldene and was, I think, originally occupied by the manager of the town's gas works, which stood next to it.
Amos Developments outgrew the site and are now based in the former Alexandra Mill in Queen Street, which has been superbly restored. They have been responsible for several restoration/conversion projects in the town.
